Another Book down - Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
#38: Keep a list/diary of all the books I've read and what I thought of them
Rebel Angels is book two in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray. I'll admit it is a bit of a teen book but I loved it all the same. After I read the Twilight series, I tried to read a couple other serious books from my bookshelf (Atonement, and My Sisters Keeper) - but I couldn't really get into them fast enough so I gave up (I will retry very soon, of course). A friend of mine recommended this series by Libbay Bray and told me it was a Twilight-like read.
A Great and Terrible Beauty - book one, was so easy to read, so easy to get into, and it made me feel like a kid again. I was excited for every bit of free time I had to read it. It's basically about this teenage girl named Gemma who comes to find out her life is a bit more interesting than she thought it was. She learns that she has power to enter another world (The Realms) and she discovers secrets about her mothers past. It's sounds really teeny-boppery, but I loved it!
Book Two - Rebel Angels was just as good, and just as fun to read. I love series when they're good like this because you get soooo much out of one story. In Rebel Angels, Gemma understands where her power comes from and learns more about what she needs to do with it. More fun stories and exciting adventures.
I'm currently reading book three (which I cheated on my goal and went out and bought... how could I not??) - A Sweet Far Thing. So far so good.

Yay for reading! I find that it's much easier to tackle books you can't get into if you first start with books that you enjoy in order to get your book digesting juices going.
