#100: Green Tea Daily - Done!

I always have issues with my stomach... if that alone was TMI, don't read the rest of this. I often feel bloated or crampy... and sometimes just have pain for no apparent reason. It sucks... I don't know what causes the discomfort, but I'm sure it has to do with the stuff I consume and the lack of regular workouts...? Anyway, I was pretty much uncomfortable most of the time... and would cherish the moments when my stomach was NOT bothering me for some odd reason. I drank green tea occasionally and read so many great things about what it could do for my body. So, I wanted to commit to drinking it every day to see what effects it would have on me. Since I'm a fan of green tea already, this goal was pretty easy. I just needed a reminder to have a cup every morning. I managed to successfully go an entire month without skipping a day and it really did help me feel better, overall.

I did, however, discover a not-so-great side effect. I started to notice dry spots on my palms and fingers. It wasn't too bad at first... but it progessively got worse and started peeling here and there (it was something like when I was little and would let Elmers Glue dry on my hands and then peel it off). Anyway... a good friend of mine (Clara!) knew about my green tea goal and mentioned that it could be the green tea causing the dry skin. I finished my 30 days out... then stopped the green tea for a few weeks and sure enough, my hands are back to normal.

I'm going to start drinking green tea again but maybe just a few days a week to keep balanced... and of course... I am staying hydrated with my daily goal of 3 water bottles of water!

xoxo

  1. I'm glad all but your hands had a pleasant experience with this goal :) I always mean to get more into teas, but I just love my environment polluting bottled water too much!
