My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult

Book update!

My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I tear up at Hallmark commercials, so you can only imagine what this book did to me. I was a sniffling, sobbing mess throughout.

This was one of those books on my bookshelf that I couldn't read the first couple tries - but finally forced myself to sit down and get into it. Now, after reading it, I wonder how the hell I managed to let such an amazing story sit on my bookshelf, unread for so long.

You fall in love with every character - even the ones that you know you're meant to hate. You feel everyone's pain (which explains all the sobbing) and you want with all your heart for everything to work out.

I read the book - then of course was super excited to watch the movie. It wasn't available on Redbox - which is my go-to for movie rentals at only $1 per night. So I went into Blockbuster for the first time in years and paid $5 to rent it. Here's a tip, read the book - skip the movie. And if you've already seen the movie, read the book anyway.

They screwed up the movie big time - major plot points were missing and they.... CHANGED THE ENDING! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Even though the movie was a huge mess - and a disappointment to say the least - I still found myself having a good cry. I told myself I would read something lighter next... but I've already started Virgin Suicides which so far - is slow.
